Summer Trend in the Shape of a Pineapple

Summer Trend in the Shape of a Pineapple

Published

The pineapple is a fruit and a common motif in design, used as a unique and affordable way to bring warmth and hospitality into a home. Its history dates back to the end of 15th century, when it was brought to Europe by Christopher Columbus. Once an expensive luxury, it now appears in almost all possible incorporations in fashion, interior design and in popular culture.

With Pixers’ new collection of interior personalization ideas, Pineapple Fever, it also awakens memories of a golden age in design, when vivid colors were a must-have in every modern home and when eccentric motifs headlined every stylish living room.

Pineapple – an Honorable Visitor of Every House

In the 18th century, the pineapple used to be a rare, expensive delicacy, a status symbol of wealth, often the centrepiece of a feast. It remained a luxurious fruit until the arrival of steamships, but still, even in the 1920s the grandest dinners needed both “a pineapple and Lady Curzon”.

All in all, displaying or serving pineapple showed that guests were honoured – this symbolism of pineapple continues to exist nowadays and pineapples can often be encountered carved as gateposts, staircase finials, and incorporated into wooden furniture.

A Fruit Full of Sun

The pineapple is a symbol of welcome and hospitality and, additionally, it exudes sunny summer vibes. With this collection Pixers encourages us to indulge in a playful pineapple decor, as well as recalls the climate of the 1960’s, when such fruity, bold, lush patterns used to be on the agenda of every self-respecting fashionista.

How you can use this motif in interiors? There are virtually endless possibilities… and it seems that designers have exploited the pineapple motif to the limits. However, the uniqueness of the collection created by Pixers is that it allows any element of your own furniture and walls in your home to be personalized with these whimsical patterns bringing to mind warm days of summer, beams of sun and tropical landscapes.

This collection is quite surprising as it is a fusion of a very trendy motif of a pineapple with colors that have rather gone out of fashion, although they are slowly returning to our interiors

– says Kasia Duduś, Pixers’ stylist.

Distinctive and powerful patterns awaken positive associations with summer and tropical landscapes. They are also a perfect match to modern wooden furniture. Apart from this , pineapples symbolize warmth and joy, so this should be a sufficient reason not only to eat them, but also to surround ourselves with them.

Among fruity ideas in this collection you will find whimsical and quirky patterns on beige, bright yellow, purple and baby blue backgrounds. While the tropical motifs might be somehow intimidating, these natural, earthy colors will influence the surroundings with their relaxing vibes and calming power.

Nature Hues - collection by Pixers

We live in a world of artificial flavors, synthetic clothes and plastic bags. But deep in our hearts we all long for nature — the smell of a forest, the touch of cold water from a stream, and an ever-changing landscape of trees, stones, bushes, grasses, wildflowers and the soil. This longing was recognized and used by interior designers from Pixers in their latest collection called Nature Hues.
